About Faith

Whether you are experiencing issues of anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship difficulties, or life transitions I’m here to meet you where you are at and walk alongside you on your journey. As a therapist, I strive to create a safe, open and non-judgmental space where we can collaboratively explore some of the difficulties you may currently be experiencing.

My clinical work draws inspiration from several different modalities which I tailor to each specific client. Primarily, I use a person-centred approach to therapy and incorporate aspects of psychodynamic theory, childhood attachment, poly-vagal somatic theory, and dialectical behavioural therapy to help my clients heal. With youth in particular, I enjoy using creative arts and hip-hop/rap music therapy in my practice.

Furthermore, I work from a trauma-informed, strengths-based and anti-oppressive framework. As a child of refugee parents, I understand firsthand the struggles that new immigrants and people of colour face when they come to Canada, and therefore I have a passion for working with such populations. I have experience working with a diverse clientele including children, adults, couples and families. I have also had the privilege of working with youth and young adults in community empowerment programs across Ottawa.

I have a BSc in Health Sciences and a MA in Psychotherapy, Counselling and Spirituality specializing in Couples and Family Counselling from Saint Paul University. I am also currently completing my Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Social Research where my project is looking at youth homelessness prevention, interventions and increasing access to justice to other vulnerable populations.

Please contact me if you have any questions for a complementary 15-minute consultation.
